Make a beautiful Logo for free in 5 minutes!
This is a simple logo making tutorial .At the end you will be able to make a custom logo for your website . You will also be exposed to set of free tools which you can explore to do more richer designs.
This post is good for anyone who wants to make a logo .No prior experience is needed with tools and programming ! We are going to make a logo like below..
How did it start?
I wanted to create a logo for my personal project. I wanted it to be a quick process and be done in 5 mins.
I wanted the logo to spell out my website name so that it creates better branding. I wanted the logo to be transparent so that the background below it will be visible. This also helps to make the logo set in most backgrounds we choose on the website.

For creating the above logo, I used this wonderful font called FiraCode iScript. You can choose a wonderful font of your choice. But if you want to use the same font -download it from this link to your computer.
We are going to use the most wonderful image editor — lunapic . This is an online image editor which is free and has been a great at what it does .So I explored this one to create a logo.
First, upload our font file to Lunapic using the link. Once the link opens up, click on choose file and upload the font file which we just downloaded . Skip this step, if we want to use the fonts available in lunapic.The font uploaded is available as ‘Custom font’ while we do our editing for a whole session .This step needs to be repeated if we want to do this another day as the font is deleted from lunapic.
Second, Open this link . This link is a shortcut to create a new image, which has a transparent background and has a width of 250 px and height of 60 px. You can change the x and y values in the link to make it to the size you want. For the first time, use the link as is and try it out.
Third, Click on Text option in the link opened above. Now, you can type a text that you want to make a logo of. Note Custom font has already been selected if we have uploaded a font file. You will see your text ,which needs to be positioned by you into the crisscross box .The crisscross box indicates a transparent background.There are many other options like effects, patterns that you can use to make a great logo .For the purpose of this tutorial ,I am using “Wood” pattern and text as “ForMedium” .
Now, our logo is ready .Choose Apply Text and File->Save .In the options ,save the image as a png file .This format is needed for saving transparent images. As soon as save as PNG is clicked, the newly created logo is downloaded to our computer.
You are now free to use this image on your websites.
